Stripes in the Summer Breeze…Matching Bustier and Pencil Skirt
Hey guys, this is my first summer post! I felt it was only appropriate to start with stripes, and when I saw this fabric in the store for 5 bucks a yard I jumped on it. It didn’t take long to figure out what to do with it after I saw a photograph of Angela Simmons rocking this Virgos Lounge outfit. I immediately knew I wanted to replicate something similar. Here are some pictures of inspiration.
I thought these were adorable outfits and quite simple to make. You can check out the store at http://virgoslounge.com.
Here is my version:
The skirt inspiration was a little different. I saw a skirt from ASOS that I wanted to try to recreate it. In haste, I made it too short but here’s the picture of the original. I also did a faux split; although, I’m debating that choice after actually wearing it for longer than three mins.
To create the bodice, I used an old McCall’s pattern that I also used it in this post. I hand stitched a separating zipper in the back. For the skirt I used the same simplicity pattern from this post, with modifications of course.

The accessories were all from Forever 21. The glasses were about $6 and the earrings were around $2.
My hair is an old shrunken blow out, that I decided to bantu knot over night. Check out my YouTube channel for more info on my hair.
Check out more pics, so many cute ones I couldn’t choose!
